Note: In order to make these DNS changes, your domain must be set to use the default nameservers of your registrar. If you do not understand how to do this, please contact us for assistance.
In order to use your own custom domain name with clickbooq's Legacy platform, you will need to make some simple changes to your domain's DNS records.
Where to make these changes:
- In most cases, you will make these changes through your domain registrar's control panel. If you use a 3rd party hosting service for services such as email or blog hosting, then you will likely need to make the changes through your hosting control panel there. If you are not sure, please contact us and we can help point you in the right direction.
How to point your A-Records to our server:
- Log into your hosting or domain registrar's control panel for your domain
- Edit the Host A-record for your primary domain name without the 'www' (i.e. yourdomain.com) and enter our IP address: 188.8.131.52
Submit/Save your changes.
Next, locate the CNAME-type alias for the 'www' hostname if it already exists. For the "Points to (Host)" value, enter "yourdomain.com".
If the CNAME record does not exist already, create a new CNAME alias and label it 'www' for the subdomain. For the "Points to (Host)" value, enter "yourdomain.com"
Note: Some control panels may require a trailing period for the record to be entered correctly, i.e "yourdomain.com.". You can review other similar records within your control panel to see if the trailing period (dot) is required.
Note 2: Some registrars such as GoDaddy point www to '@', and '@' points to the IP address, so the only change you need to make is to the '@' entry.
- That's it! Please allow 24-48 hours for the DNS changes to fully propagate. Please contact us to let us know you have completed this process so we can double-check for any issues.
